
Duno Finishes 15th at Chicagoland Speedway, Obstacles Along the Way
IndyCar rookie driver Milka Duno finished 15th today, September 9th, at the PEAK Antifreeze Indy 300 race, the final race of the 2007 IndyCar Series season. Held at the Chicagoland Speedway, Duno earned the position after starting 22nd and after overcoming many obstacles that might have affected the outcome of her eighth IndyCar appearance.

It was "Alabama" hot and humid in Montreal (Quebec) on Friday evening but Kris Szekeres did the bulk of the driving duties in Round 11 of the 2007 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to bring his Daytona Prototype Pontiac Riley home in 10th place overall, six seconds from race winner Max Angelelli. His teammate Patrick Carpentier had qualified the SAMAX Motorsport entry in third place in the morning session, but rolled into the pits during the race's first caution flag on lap 13 of 68 to hand over the Pontiac to Szekeres.

Damage sustained to the #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda in a crash in turn four today at the Nashville Superspeedway will cause IndyCar Series rookie Milka Duno and the SAMAX Motorsport team to miss Saturday night’s Firestone Indy 200. Duno was uninjured in the accident. Unfortunately it was determined that the #23 CITGO Racing car is not repairable in Nashville.

MECHANICAL FAILURE ENDS SAMAX MOTORSPORTS DAY EARLY AT DAYTONA
SAMAX Motorsports Pontiac Riley was heading towards the spotlights on Thursday night at Daytona International Speedway when Kris Szekeres spun off the lead in the early part of the race after leading from lap 10 to 17. His off-track excursion took him out of contention when he returned to the track in 17th place. Szekeres managed to avoid stalling the car and continued until he pitted for a driver change. However, the car would not engage in gear when teammate Patrick Carpentier took over on lap 37 trying to leave the pits. The SAMAX Pontiac Riley was then pulled behind the wall with a clutch problem that destroyed the transmission.

SAMAX Motorsport returns to Daytona International Speedway on July 5 for round eight of 14 of the 2007 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. All race activities will be concentrated in a busy Thursday with practice and qualifying running from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m., followed by the 250-mile sprint race at 8:00p.m. With the Daytona Prototypes sharing track time with the Rolex GT sports cars, the 3.56-mile (5.73-kilometer) track will be very active indeed. This will be the fifth time this year that both classes will race together in the same event.

Milka Duno Finishes Early Due to Injury at Richmond International Raceway
IndyCar rookie driver Milka Duno finished early tonight at the Richmond International Raceway after starting in 19th position in her #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda. Duno exited at lap 80 as a result of an injury from a crash the day before during practice. It became clear that her right wrist and elbow were affected and she could not maintain the strength necessary to finish the 250 lap event.

In one of those "I whish I wasn't here today to race" SAMAX Motorsports drivers Patrick Carpentier and Kris Szekeres finished 12th in the EMCO Gears Classic 400-kilometer race held Saturday evening at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Kris Szekeres of Hartland, Michigan qualified the #11 SAMAX Pontiac Riley Daytona Prototype in tenth place on Friday and was scheduled as the starting driver. Szekeres handed over the Dynamic Technology Pontiac Riley over to Carpentier still in 10th place after 37 laps, but the Canadian driver, who lives in Las Vegas, could not keep up with the leaders who eventually put a lap on the SAMAX car before the race was over after 111 laps.

KRIS SZEKERES JOINS SAMAX MOTORSPORT IN MID-OHIO
Kris Szekeres of Hartland, Michigan has joined the SAMAX Motorsports Grand-Am Rolex team for this Saturday's Round 7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The 27-year old driver, who was born in Chicago, entered the Grand-Am Series in 2005 recording three Top-10 results in 12 GT Class starts. Szekeres has also competed twice in the Daytona Prototype class of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the first time with Southard Motorsports in 2006 and this year with SAMAX Motorsports where he finished sixth overall. He shared seat time in the #7 Dynamic Technology Pontiac Riley with Czech driver Tomas Enge, American's Chris Festa and Roger Yasukawa and Christian Montanari, a citizen of the Republic of San Marino.

Duno Finishes in 11th Place at Texas Motor Speedway, Third Race for Rookie
IndyCar rookie driver Milka Duno finished
11th tonight at the Texas Motor Speedway after starting in 20th position in
her #23 CITGO Racing Dallara Honda. The Texas event was Duno's third
appearance in her limited 2007 IndyCar Series schedule. Over the course of
the three day event, Duno successfully overcame a number of issues including
a crash caused by a mechanical failure that occurred during the first
practice on Thursday afternoon as well as a puncture in the right front tire
after her last pit stop in Saturday night's race.

TOMAS ENGE JOINS CARPENTIER AT SAMAX MOTORSPORT FOR THE SIX HOURS OF THE GLEN
Tomas Enge will join SAMAX Motorsport team driver Patrick Carpentier for the upcoming Six Hours of the Glen, Round 6 of the 14-race Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, scheduled to start this Saturday at 11 a.m. at Watkins Glen, New York. A regular competitor in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2002, Enge is also a seasoned veteran of open-wheel racing. In 2005, he competed against Carpentier in the Indy Racing League. This will be the Czech drivers second start of the 2007 season with the South Florida-based SAMAX Motorsport team. SAMAX is currently third overall in the Team Standings after five races with 134 points, just 14 behind SunTrust Racing in first place. The team, which has four top-five results including a second-place finish in the season opener at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, is looking for its first win of 2007.

SAMAX DRIVERS DALZIEL AND CARPENTIER FINISH FIFTH AT LAGUNA SECA
Sunday, May 20, 2007 - Smart pit strategy by the SAMAX Motorsport crew at the start of Round 5 of the 14-race Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series at Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California on Sunday required Ryan Dalziel to come in on lap one for a stop and go when the race went full course yellow. The strategy helped heal some of the afflictions suffered by the team since the weekend began on Friday. Qualifying the Pontiac Riley in eighth place on Saturday, Dalziel saw his time thrown out by series officials following post-qualifying scrutiny when the car's ride height was deemed a fraction off the limit as were those of four other DP teams and a load of other Rolex GT and KONI Challenge cars. To make things worse, Carpentier was hit from the rear during Sunday morning's warm-up session, damaging the rear of the SAMAX Pontiac Riley.

March 23, 2007 -Milka
Duno announced today at Homestead-Miami Speedway that
she will be moving from the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car
Series to the Indy Racing League (IRL) starting the weekend
of April 29 at Kansas Speedway, Round 4 of the 2007 season.
The Venezuela-born Duno, who also makes her home in Miami,
was thrilled with her move to the IRL to pursue her racing
career. During the last three years she spent in the
Grand-Am Series, Milka Duno finished first overall three
times. In February 2004, she co-drove her Pontiac Daytona
Prototype to victory with Andy Wallace to become the
first woman to win a major North American sports car

secured the inside of the third row on the grid for the Rolex
24 at Daytona, the opening round of the 15-race Grand-American

was red flagged for more than half the period after an incident
